Buzz Clifford - Baby Sittin' Boogie

February 1961 - Weeks On Chart: 11 - Highest Position: 2

This sounds a bit like "The Monster Mash" except with random baby gurglings. It's a novelty song; whether you like it depends on whether you like hearing random baby gurglings on your hit single.

Buzz Clifford (1941-2018) was from Berwyn, Illinois, which is part of metropolitan Chicago. His version of "Baby Sittin' Boogie" reached #6 on the Billboard pop chart and sold over a million copies. He eventually moved to California, became a songwriter, and toured with former Beach Boy David Marks.

Ralf Bendix created a German version of this song, titled "Babysitter Boogie", which charted in Toronto in 1962.

Created December 2, 2025.
