This is a collections of impersonations of popular stars, including Ben E. King, Smokey Robinson, and David Ruffin. Mr. Turner does a reasonable job of impersonating everybody but he tends to over-emote a bit and his impersonations are not as good as the originals (how could they be?).
Spyder Turner, born Dwight David Turner in 1947, was from Detroit. His recording of "Stand By Me" reached #12 on the Billboard Hot 100 and #3 on the R&B singles chart. He went on to work with former Motown producer Norman Whitfield and last released an album in 2006.
