Babs Tino - Forgive Me (For Giving You Such A Bad Time)

August 1962 - Weeks On Chart: 9 - Highest Position: 9

This is a throwback that could easily have been released before rock and roll became popular. I like rock and roll better than I like this song. Oh well.

Babs Tino was from either Philadelphia or Camden County in New Jersey, depending on which source you believe. She released her first single in 1957. "Forgive Me" was successful in some local markets, including Toronto, but only reached #117 on the Billboard pop chart. It was one of the more obscure songs written by the songwriting team of Burt Bacharach and Hal David.

Ms. Tino continued releasing songs up to the end of 1963, with some additional success in local markets, but then disappeared from public view. The Vancouver Pop Music Signature Sounds website has a page on another of her singles, "Too Late To Worry", which achieved chart success in Vancouver in 1962.
