The Tune Rockers - The Green Mosquito

September 1958 - Weeks On Chart: 7 - Highest Position: 19

This is harmless fun (if a bit repetitive) and now we know what a green mosquito sounds like. Kids, this is what your grandparents (or great-grandparents) might very well have been listening to when they were young!

The Tune Rockers were from Buffalo, New York. "The Green Mosquito" reached #44 on the Billboard Hot 100; their followup, "No Stoppin' This Boppin'", was unsuccessful.

The Amherst High School alumni website has a biography of The Tune Rockers. As of 2022, only one of them was still alive.

There is footage of The Tune Rockers performing on American Bandstand that I really think you should watch, if only for the awesome choreography.
