This song is a pleasant enough listening exercise: one guitar provides a steady rhythm in the right stereo channel while another guitar provides Spanish-style heroics, complete with reverb, in the left.
Los Indios Tabajaras was two brothers from Brazil, Antenor and Natalicio Lima. They started recording under this name in the late 1950s but were recording and performing as early as the 1940s. Their version of "Maria Elena", a tune written in 1932, reached #6 on the Billboard chart in the fall of 1963 and sold over a million copies.
The brothers had one other song, "Always In My Heart", on the lower reaches of the Billboard 100 in 1964. They recorded and performed into the 1980s.
