Round Robin - Kick That Little Foot Sally Ann

April 1964 - Weeks On Chart: 9 - Highest Position: 18

Hurray for Sally Ann! She can too do the salsa!

Round Robin's real name was Robin Lloyd. He released a few singles during the 1960s but doesn't have a large internet footprint. The Discogs website has a brief biography of him.

"Kick That Little Foot Sally Ann" only reached #61 on the Billboard pop chart, so it was more popular in Toronto than in most other places. It was written by the songwriting team of P.F. Sloan and Steve Barri, whose most famous hit was Johnny Rivers' "Secret Agent Man". Sloan also wrote "Eve Of Destruction", which became a #1 hit for Barry McGuire in 1965. (McGuire had two songs on the CHUM Chart, so he won't appear in this site.)

"Kick That Little Foot Sally Ann" bears a startling resemblance to Harry Belafonte's Shake That Little Foot - I'm surprised that he wasn't given a songwriting credit.

The description provided with the above YouTube link stated that members of The Wrecking Crew played on this song and that The Blossoms sang background on it. I'm pretty sure that Darlene Love can be heard singing in the background at the very end. Which is a good thing; Darlene Love is awesome.
