Nicola Paone - Blah, Blah, Blah

Nicola Paone (1915-2003), known as the "Italian Bing Crosby", was born in Pennsylvania; his parents were Sicilian. During his career, he recorded over 150 songs in English and Italian. "Blah, Blah, Blah" was the only song of his to reach the Billboard Hot 100 chart, making it to #57 in 1959. His song "Uei Paesano" ("My Countryman") sold five million copies.

By the time "Blah Blah Blah" hit the airwaves, Paone had ended his music career and had opened an Italian restaurant in New York. It became hugely successful. He retired from running the restaurant in 1998 and it closed in 2008 after fifty years in business.
