Joe Medlin - I Kneel At Your Throne

April 1959 - Weeks On Chart: 2 - Highest Position: 40

This song reminded me of "Unchained Melody" - lots of melodrama and a wall of sound. Not sure that his loved one would want to spend too much time on a throne, however!

Joe Medlin started his music career in the late 1940s. He was briefly a member of The Ravens, a vocal group that had a number of hits on the R&B chart in the late 1940s and early 1950s. Besides singing, Medlin also worked as a producer and a record promoter and became a vice-president at Decca Records, the first black man to hold this role. He doesn't seem to have charted on the Billboard Hot 100 at any point.

The Discogs website has a brief biography of him.
