Lords of London were teenagers from the Riverdale district of Toronto who started out by forming a Rolling Stones cover band before deciding to target the teenage pop market. By the time "Cornflakes And Ice Cream" was released, they had developed a teen fan club, which requested the song so often that it went to number 1 in Canada. The group couldn't produce a follow-up record and disbanded in 1968; many of the members reformed under another name and started playing progressive rock.
