Leapy Lee - Little Arrows

December 1968 - Weeks On Chart: 11 - Highest Position: 1

This song is so relentlessly upbeat and cheerful that I couldn't finish it. But I can see how it can get stuck in your head.

Leapy Lee was the stage name of British singer Graham Pulleyblank. "Little Arrows" was his only pop hit, reaching #2 in the UK and #16 on the Billboard Hot 100. With later releases, he reached the lower reaches of the US country charts twice in the early 1970s.

In 1970, Lee got into a brawl at a pub in Berkshire and was sentenced to three years in jail for unlawful wounding. His more recent claim to fame or infamy was that he appeared on the British TV reality show OAPs Behaving Badly in 2014, in which he was shown having a fling with a woman named Bettina from Denmark while on holiday. He is still alive - he is 86 at the time of writing and lives in Majorca.
