Gotta love that cowbell!
The Jaggerz were from Pittsburgh. If their Wikipedia page is to be believed, their name has nothing to do with Mick Jagger: a "jagger", in Western Pennsylvania jargon, is a small, pointy object. The band was originally called The Jaggers but changed it because there was another band with that name.
"The Rapper" was hugely successful, reaching #2 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and selling over a million copies. Two other songs from their 1970 album, We Went to Different Schools Together, made it to the lower reaches of the chart.
The group disbanded in 1977 after numerous personnel changes. They have reformed every now and again to perform and record with various lineups; they last released an album in 2014.
