The Four Dates - I'm Happy

April 1958 - Weeks On Chart: 4 - Highest Position: 20

This song is driving me crazy because it reminds me of a similar song but I can't figure out what it is. If I figure it out, I'll edit this entry.

The Four Dates were a doo-wop group from Philadelphia. They originally called themselves The Mel-tones when they formed in high school in 1956. They released two other singles besides this - I don't know whether any of their releases hit the Billboard chart. Their biggest claim to fame was that they were a backup group for Frankie Avalon and Fabian.

A search yielded a doo-wop and rhythm and blues blog that has a biography of the group.
