This is a classic bit of old-school doo-wop. It's slow dance time at the local sock hop!
The Danleers were from Brooklyn. "One Summer Night", their first single, reached #7 on the Billboard Hot 100. Two other singles were unsuccessful, after which their record label dropped them.
A new lineup of Danleers, including original lead vocalist Jimmy Weston, tried again from 1960 to 1964 but didn't have any better luck. Weston continued to tour with various other Danleers until he passed away in 1993.
