This is a fairly uneventful bit of harmless old-school slow doo-wop. I couldn't resist writing about it because this seemed like the most white-bread band name and song title ever.
The Cardigans were from Chattanooga, Tennessee and, in fact, were in high school when they recorded this. It apparently only charted in Toronto and Pittsburgh; it didn't make the Billboard Hot 100. It did pop up at high school graduation parties here and there and it wound up being a hit in Chicago in 1961 and again in 1962.
The Cardigans don't seem to have done much after this. A search turned up a doo-wop blog that has a biography of them. These Cardigans are not to be confused with the Swedish pop group of the same name that was successful in the 1990s.
