The 1931 Toronto city directory lists a Mary Bush at apartment C3, 42 Maitland Street; she was the widow of Dexter C. Bush. She had been recently widowed, too, as the 1930 directory lists him. I have no idea whether this is the woman in the photo. The 1932 and 1933 directories do not list her, so if this is her, she didn't survive her baptism for long.
The Crowdy Widows and Orphans Home had just come into existence at about the time of this photograph, as it is not listed in the 1931 directory: 11 Gerrard St. W. was the residence of one Arthur J. Cambridge, a plasterer. The 1932 directory lists the home at 11 Gerrard St. W., with the Reverend George Adams as its president.
The home wasn't in existence for long. The 1935 directory lists it as having been relocated to 33 Elm Street and the 1937 directory doesn't list it.
