Document Planning

The documentation process begins long before a single word is put to paper. If you are starting a documentation project from scratch, I can provide you with the tools you need to turn your documentation ideas into reality.

An Information Plan analyzes your target audience(s) and determines the documents you will need, and the content that these documents will contain.

Once this plan is in place, a Content Specification Plan is created for each document in the Information Plan. This Plan provides an outline of the contents of the document, and an estimate of the amount of time needed to complete the document. Together, the Content Specification Plans provide an accurate estimate of the resources needed for your documentation project. This ensures that there will be no surprises!
